Pastor David is a kind-hearted man who has dedicated his life to serving his community and spreading the teachings of the Bible.
He also has something that is very attractive to his community: TRUTH!
But David has not always lived confidently equipped and empowered as a pastor.
Before EmPowered-Living donors provided the opportunity for a seminary-level education, he struggled.
David remembers being excited at the opportunity to deepen his knowledge and understanding of the scriptures at a one-week intensive at ELIM.
But he was also disheartened.
David knew that to attend the one-week intensive he would not be able to work his multiple jobs that provide for his family and many of the needy in his church. Most weeks, David makes about $5. It isn't much but he and his family survive.
But his apprehension was turned to joy when he learned that the training at the Institute was free. And, he learned that if he attended, he might be eligible for a stipend to cover his lost week of work.
During the intensive, Pastor David immersed himself in the teachings of the Bible, learning about love, compassion, forgiveness, and the importance of helping those in need. Each day left him feeling more inspired and enlightened than before.
Pastor David returned Kilamatou Village a changed man. He radiated with newfound wisdom and understanding, and his sermons became filled with passion and conviction. People from all over the village were drawn to his church, eager to hear his words of truth and wisdom.
As Pastor David continues to share his transformation with others, his church is growing rapidly. The once-small congregation now overflows with members seeking guidance and inspiration.
But Pastor David's influence doesn't stop at the church doors. He has become a beacon of hope and compassion in the community, leading various humanitarian efforts to help those in need. From feeding the hungry to providing shelter for the homeless, Pastor David and his congregation work tirelessly to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
