A watershed moment in East Africa (and how $2,500 opens the door)

A few months ago, training 80 pastors and church planters in a remote region of East Africa meant weeks of travel, massive logistics, and high travel costs.
On Thursday, November 12, we are taking a major step forward into something we’ve never tried before.
We are hosting our first-ever Global Leadership & Evangelism Hybrid Training Webinar for the students and pastors of ELIM Theological Institute and leaders across the region.
How it works:
Instead of a single instructor traveling in, we are connecting leaders across three continents in real time:
From Virginia: Teaching on biblical, Shepherd Leadership—caring for the flock in challenging cultural environments.
From South Africa: Dr. Willem Nel and his team broadcasting from Potchefstroom, teaching on Good-to-Great Leadership alongside two seasoned evangelism specialists.
On the Ground in East Africa: Over 80 pastors, church planters, and ministry students gathered in a rented training hall with live facilitators, interactive Q&A, and shared meals.
The Breakthrough: A $500 Game-Changer
To make live, high-definition training possible in an area with unreliable infrastructure, we must purchase a portable Starlink satellite internet kit.
This satellite setup won't just power this one-day event—it will permanently equip the Bible school to host ongoing online courses, leadership cohorts, and global guest instructors year-round.
The Need: $2,500
The entire budget for this watershed event is $2,500. This covers:
The portable Starlink satellite kit ($500)
Venue rental and sound/PA system
Meals for 80+ pastors and leaders
Local transport for leaders traveling from distant villages
On-site IT technician and local facilitator stipends
Our mission remains clear: empowering local leaders to make disciples, build healthy churches, and transform their communities for Christ.
Would you prayerfully consider investing $50, $100, $500, or sponsoring the entire $2,500 to unlock this digital highway for these pastors?
Thank you for standing with these frontline leaders as we equip them to bring the hope of the Gospel to their communities.
Gratefully,
Dr. Daniel & Mary Beth Gilbert
