Dr Daniel & Mary Beth Gilbert

Dr. Lawrence Oseje is a professor at Africa International University, part-time professor at Regent University, and Executive Director of Destiny Impact Mission International, a ministry that trains pastors and church leaders across Africa.

We share the same heart and values. Dr. Lawrence Oseje and Dorcas.

We are proud that he is also a partner with EmPowered Living. For many years.

And we all share some common values.

People

When Dr. Oseje first met me (Daniel), he says something moved him deeply.

“I saw a man who was very passionate about the African church.”

He’s saying that, like you, we don’t see pastors in Kenya as projects. We see them as brothers and sisters.

You don’t give just to fund our programs.

You give because people matter.

Like you and Dr. Oseje, we celebrate that value!

True Partnership

Dr. Oseje says something else that is remarkable.

He says that in the world of international ministry, genuine partnership, where outsiders truly embrace African leaders as equals, is rare.

“He (Dr. Gilbert) doesn’t have that negativism that some Western leaders have. He takes me as a brother, a co-worker, and a partner in the ministry.”

Like you, we don’t believe that kind of partnership should be rare.

Empowered Living donors don’t give from a place of superiority. They give from a place of shared calling. Like you, and Dr. Oseje, we believe in the dignity and leadership capacity of the people we serve.

“If God calls us coworkers,” Dr. Oseje asked, “why limit that? Why not follow?”

That’s another value we all share. And it’s worth celebrating.

Consistency & Sacrifice

Dr. Oseje says that he watched us travel to Kenya two or three times a year. Year after year, for 14 years.

Raising support. Gathering pastors. Feeding them. Providing Bibles when possible. Pouring into the African church.

“This is beyond just human comprehension,” Dr. Oseje says. “This is divine.”

You understand that kind of sacrifice.

Because you’ve been showing up too. Year after year. With your prayers, your partnership, and your generosity.

That same divine love drives us all.

These are values that we share. And they are worth celebrating.

The Power of Partnership

Dr. Oseje is a leader in his own right. He has his own platform, his own influence, his own thriving ministry.

But he chooses to partner with EmPowered Living—because our values align.

“Mission is about partnership. The more hands we have, the like-mindedness we have, the more impact we can make in the Kingdom of God.”

One can go far. But together we go farther.

You. Us. Dr. Oseje. His wife Dorcas. Hundreds of pastors across Kenya, Mozambique, Burundi, Colombia, and Ecuador.

All partners.

All like-minded.

All building the Kingdom together.

Because we share the same heart. We share the same values.

And together, we’re doing something rare—and something divine.

Thank you for sharing these values with us.
