It is likely true that we share the same values.

Values matter.

Not the kind you put on a website and forget about.

Not the kind you frame on a wall and never look at again.

The kind of values that shape every decision we make, every relationship we build, and every action we take.

The kind that define who we are when no one is watching.

Proverbs 4:23 - “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

This verse teaches that what we value in our hearts (our core beliefs and priorities) determines all our actions. The Hebrew word for “heart” (לֵב, lev) refers to the inner person—mind, will, and emotions.

Those are the values we want to share with you over the coming weeks.

Why Values Matter

Here’s the truth: Everyone has values—whether they’ve named them or not.

Our values are revealed in:

  • How we treat people when we’re tired or frustrated

  • What we prioritize when resources are limited

  • The decisions we make when no one will ever know

We can’t hide our values. They show up in everything we do.

At EmPowered Living, we’ve been doing this work for 14 years. We’ve trained hundreds of pastors, partnered with orphanages, schools, and churches across multiple nations.

And through it all, our values have been our compass.

We suspect it’s the same for you. When you don’t know what decision to make, your values guide you.

In your challenges, your values keep you grounded.

When opportunities arise that don’t align with who you are, your values help you say no.

Values aren’t just words on a page. They’re the foundation of everything we do—and everything you do.

Why We’re Sharing Our Values With You

Over the next several weeks, we’re going to share our eight core values with you—one at a time.

Because values aren’t just what we say—they’re what we do.

And here’s what we believe: You already live these values too.

That’s why you partner with us.

That’s why our work resonates with you.

That’s why you give, pray, and believe in this mission.

We share the same heart.

We share the same values.

We hope that as you read these stories, you’ll see yourself in them. You’ll recognize your own values reflected back to you. You’ll understand more deeply why this partnership feels so right.

Because when our values align, we’re not just working together—we’re building the Kingdom together.

Our Eight Core Values

Here are the values we’ll be exploring—values we believe you share with us:

  1. People – We value people where they are, not as projects or numbers

  2. Truth – We are committed to the authority of God’s Word

  3. Empowerment – We equip others to lead, not create dependency

  4. Transformation – We believe God changes lives from the inside out

  5. Integrity – We do what’s right, even when it’s hard

  6. Holistic Living – We care for the whole person

  7. Compassion – We lead with love, especially for the vulnerable

  8. Kingdom Living – We prioritize God’s Kingdom over our own agendas

As you read this list, we suspect you’re nodding along. These matter to you too, don’t they?

That’s not a coincidence. That’s why we’re partners.

COMING NEXT WEEK: VALUE #1 – PEOPLE

We value people where they are—not as projects, not as numbers, but as image-bearers of God. We think you do too.
