We Lost Our Brother: Paul Tawo

Dr. Daniel Gilbert

Pastor Paul has been like a brother and my right hand man from the very beginning, over twelve years ago. With his leadership our Bible School grew from twenty-six pastors to training over five-hundred pastors and Bible students.

It is with a heavy heart that we write to you today. Even as we celebrate the success of our 2024 Back-To-School campaign, we have received devastating news that has shaken our EmPowered Living family to its core.

Our beloved ELIM Theological Institute director, Paul Tawo, has tragically lost his life in an accident. This loss is immeasurable, not only for our organization but, especially, for his wife and three daughters who are left behind. Our hearts break for them during this unimaginably difficult time.

Pastor Paul has been like a brother and my right hand man from the very beginning, over twelve years ago. With his leadership our Bible School grew from twenty-six pastors to training over five-hundred pastors and Bible students. He was also instrumental in expanding our school into two extended campuses. Paul was a skilled administrator and has trained several leaders to help ELIM Theological Institute to continue to thrive and grow.

In the midst of our grief, we are reminded of the importance of coming together as a community to support one another. While we mourn, we also feel called to action. Like most Africans, Pastor Paul has no insurance. We are establishing a fund to ensure the welfare and education of his children, honoring his legacy of dedication to learning and spiritual growth.

Additionally, we need to make an emergency trip to attend to immediate affairs and offer support to the family. Your generosity has always been a beacon of hope, and we humbly ask for your support once again during this critical time.

If you feel moved to contribute, your donation will help:

- Establish a fund for Paul's children's welfare and education

- Cover the costs of the emergency trip to handle urgent matters

We understand that this request comes at a sensitive time, and we appreciate any support you can offer, whether it be financial, emotional, or through your prayers.

Thank you for your compassion and continued support of our ELIM family. In times like these, your kindness makes all the difference.

With deep gratitude and sorrow,

Dr. Daniel & Mary Beth Gilbert

P.S. Please keep Paul's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your support, in whatever form you offer, is deeply appreciated.
